What are Rare Satoshis?

In order to understand Rare Satoshis we first need to understand what a Satoshi is.
A Satoshi (sat) is the smallest denomination of Bitcoin. There are 100 million Satoshis in one Bitcoin. Each Satoshi is worth 0.00000001 Bitcoin.
Next to understand what a Rare Satoshi is we need to understand what Ordinal Theory is...
Ordinal Theory essentially assigns Satoshis (the smallest denomination of Bitcoin) with a numismatic value, numbering them in order of creation. This allows individual Satoshis to be collected and traded as digital artefacts, similar to non-fungible tokens (NFTs)
Thanks to Ordinal Theory, we know exactly which Satoshi is which, when it was made, and how it was used. This allows us verify historically significant Satoshis to be collected. For example, Pizza Satoshis represent the Satoshis used in the first ever Bitcoin Transaction of 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas. Thanks to Ordinals Theory we can identify and verify those Satoshis to be collected.
